The Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards are awarded annually on the basis of the following selection criteria: the firm's mission statement, goals & objectives, products/services offered, the company's business achievements, and its contributions to the community. The Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award for Financial Services was awarded to Ms. Eckerson and Estate Doctor® in 2001.
That same year, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger awarded the State Chamber of Commerce’s “Small Business Advocate of the Year” to her volunteer Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce work coaching small businesses.
